The IEEE International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies (ICALT 2001) took place very successfully by bringing together researchers, academics and industry practitioners who are involved or interested in the design and development of advanced and emerging learning technologies.

About 200 participants from 31 countries from all continents of the world attended the event. The feedback from the paricipants has been quite positive towards the quality of papers and organisation.
