Panel:
Different perspectives in the Development Process of Educational Material
| Chair: |
Juan Manuel Dodero
Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
|
| Objectives: |
To discuss different, interdisciplinary approaches to develop diverse forms of educational material, and their relation to the use of ICT in the educational process. |
| Short description: |
Any educational/learning process is normally carried out by different kind of actors. Learners, but also academic staff - instructors, authors of didactic content, instructional designers, etc. - , are considered interested parties in the process. The objectives of the latter are often related to the creation or composition of educational materials, the administration of their contents, and the design of didactic mechanisms that help in managing the learning process. Some issues arise when putting together a group of these actors to develop a given educational material, ranging from collaboration and composing to the evaluation and re-use of their individual achievements.
The aim of this panel is to discuss different, interdisciplinary approaches and issues that can provide some value to the development of educational material, whether from the information & communication technologies point of view, or more biased towards instructional design aspects.
The topics to be addressed in the Panel include the following:
- Collaboration and CSCW in the development of learning objects
- Semantic Web support to create and manage educational software
- The role of Learning Design and related standards
- Adaptive e-learning to help in the design and review of learning materials
Portfolio of quality evaluations for contents/engineering of learning objects. |
| Audience: |
The expected audience will include instructional designers, educational technologists, and those interested in the development of educational material, mostly under the pattern of a learning object. |
